Fatima Tresh is a doctoral student and assistant lecturer in social and organisational psychology at the Centre for the Study of Group Processes, School of Psychology at the University of Kent. Fatima has collaborated widely on academic research projects, examining workplace behaviours including unethical and transgressive leadership, workplace jealousy and organisational politics. She was awarded an Economic and Social Research Council scholarship to complete a Master’s degree in Research Methods and PhD. Since commencing her post-graduate research, Fatima has been awarded funding to host interdisciplinary events including a ‘Leadership and Diversity’ conference in which academics and practitioners engaged in knowledge exchange and networking for greater collaboration between the fields. Fatima is now the doctoral student representative for the Gender in Management Special Interest Group in the British Academy of Management.
Alongside her academic career, Fatima has recently co-authored practitioner-focused reports including “The Middle: Progressing Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Talent in the Workplace through Collaborative Action” commissioned by the Black British Business Awards and “Unconscious Bias Training: An Assessment of the Evidence for Effectiveness” commissioned by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
Most recently, Fatima is a project manager for the Black British Business Awards’ BAME Talent Accelerator. The BAME Talent Accelerator is a pioneering cross-company evidence-based programme which engages high-potential BAME participants and their organisation-wide stakeholders to address the some of the challenges faced by talented ethnic minority individuals that were identified in The Middle Research report.
