Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW)
Kathryn joined HFW in August 2014 and is responsible for implementing the firm’s global Corporate Responsibility strategy including the firm’s Community Investment and Diversity and Inclusion strategies. In relation to Diversity and Inclusion (D&I), Kathryn is working to ensure HFW meets its aims of increasing the diversity of its workforce and providing an inclusive environment which enables everyone to perform at their best. Key successes to date include increasing visible support for D&I by creating a global network of senior Diversity and Inclusion Champions and establishing eight diversity and inclusion networks, organising numerous awareness raising campaigns including a global mental health awareness campaign, initiating changes to the graduate recruitment process and using data to highlight where the firm can make the most impactful changes.
HFW was named a Diversity Pioneer by The Lawyer and in 2017 was listed in the first Top 50 Social Mobility Employer Index. HFW works with a number of organisations in order to meet its Diversity and Inclusion aims including Aspiring Solicitors, Career Ready, Mind, SEO and Stonewall. The firm is also a member of/signatory to the City Mental Health Alliance, the 30% Club, Prime (the legal sector’s commitment to improving access to work experience), the Law Society’s D&I Charter and Community Business’ Diversity and Inclusion in Asia Network Global Link. HFW is also an accredited Living Wage Employer in the UK.
Before joining HFW, Kathryn was an Assistant Manager within the Corporate Responsibility team at KPMG where she was responsible for implementing the firm’s education programmes across the UK and establishing the sector wide social mobility programme Access Accountancy.
