Charlotte has nearly 20 years experience in optics and has seen many aspects of the industry from the shop floor to support office, gaining various qualifications along the way.
Charlotte joined the L&D team in Specsavers in 2011. What followed were several years of dynamic changes in the way L&D trained and engaged with its learners.
2013 saw the launch of the first optical apprenticeship programme in Specsavers, qualifying as an Assessor and IQA to help apprentices through their journey was truly rewarding.
Keeping pace with the changes in L&D, Charlotte was part of a team to update the learning offer available at Specsavers to a more blended approach. Challenging herself to produce even more engaging online learning as well as using VR and AR technology in the classroom to create an immersive experience.
In recent years Specsavers has collaborated with various charities to ensure that staff are trained to the highest standard and offer best care to a wide range of customers. Seeing the impact of training available to help customers with dementia or autism or an unusual appearance has been remarkable.
